I Agree It's Sloppy

I agree that I'm being sloppy in my opening statement. My intent is not to demonstrate a comprehensive number of beliefs that can be held in this regard but rather to introduce in this context the option of having a strongly held belief that there is more than what we see. If there isn't more than what we see, then by definition we should conclude that our future is entirely composed of the material events that we see occurring. For some this is acceptable, for others this is a rather pessimistic outlook.
