In times of peril, if such unfortunate events eventually come upon us, we can either become hopeless saps, have hope that cockroaches will evolve brains and succeed where we failed, or we can believe in some higher power that has saving power beyond the physical bodies that we inhabit.

But, here's a news flash, regardless of whether those 'unfortunate events' come or don't come, we (each individual) still face the same outcome as if total nuclear/biological/Einstein-Bose beam smashers/etc were to obliverate humanity. That is, we are all going to die and our memories of life will cease *unless* there is some higher power capable and willing to save our existence from eternal oblivion.

As for me, I say heaven awaits us and that everyday is but a step toward that Day of Reckoning.
