Assumptions Vs. Postulates

The following quote from your post suggests that you regard assumptions as different from postulates. Please explain the difference.

"My assumptions (i.e., those facts I have assumed with out examination)
might not be nonexistent but the probability of finding any in my life time
seems to me to be negligible. My postulates seem to me to be very close to
absolute truth as I can get; to find an error there is certainly beyond my
abilities.
