All HTML operators have the same format: 2 triangular brackets with the specific operator within each brackets , and your text in between. First pair of triangular brackets (=operation begins) contains the kind of operatior you want to modyfy your text by (raise, lower, italize, etc.). Second one (after the text to be modified) contains the same operator symbol but with slash up (/) right in front of the operator symbol (=operation ends).

Symbol b is operator of bold, i - of italic, symbols sub - of subscript, sup - of superscript and so on. There are operators for greek symbols, for drawing lines, tables, frames, etc. Full list of HTML operators can be found on the Internet as "html cheat sheet" or on similar key word sites.
