Three Kinds Of Knowledge

Alan,

To me there are three categories of knowledge:

a) Things I'm so sure about that not even God (much less a human) could change my mind. "I exist" and "1+1=2" fall into this category.

b) Things that are so important that it doesn't make any difference whether I'm right or wrong. "The world exists" and "logic works" belong here.

c) Opinions.

I don't recognize any other kind of knowledge. I basically agree with Dick because he seems to deal mostly with (a), with a little (minimal) help from (b). No (c) at all.

Your writing, I put it mostly under (c). Sorry. But don't feel bad, everyone else is there most of the time, myself included. (c) is where the fun in life is.

(by the way, this post falls under (a) so don't bother trying to convince me otherwise. Unless you're better than God, that is :)
