Alan,

Don't you think this "seek and you shall find" thing only works for finders, not for seekers? Everyone who claims to know God says the same thing, it's become a cliche.

As far as I can tell it goes more on the lines of "stumble upon and you shall find". Some people spend their whole lives seeking God, find none, and end up as bitter atheists. At the same time many atheists are turned into deep believers, all of a sudden and totally against their will. At least the good thing is that the second case is far more common.
