Good points.

What records do we have of Egyptian history? I know about the markings on the various structures around Egypt. Are there any kind of written records that have survived time that have enough detail to describe (or not) enslaving a people?

History is absolutely fascinating and I try to draw from all resources including the Bible and put together a picture of BC times.

Since the Old Test. mentions the Tower of Babbel, can we infer that the old test. began to record things more accurately perhaps form King David forward?

I hear about archeology digs finding evidence of the two kingdoms of Isreal just before their takeover (which takeover I can't quite remember).

I also remember about two years ago some news about DNA testing of people with the name Levy and Levi supposedly direct descendants of Aaron (brother of Moses????). It seems there is a coorelation that suggests they are all related to some common point in the past through the Levi tribe.

It seems this suggests what I have thought for some time that much of the bible sprang from real events with the more recent being more accurate and the oldest events not accurate at all (or much). I am speaking of the Old Test. here. The New Test. seems to be in its own class.

Fun stuff.

John
