The Beginning Of Anti-semitism

One possible definition of the beginning of anti-semitism is when Constantine made Christianity the state religion of Rome and made the teaching of Judaism punishable by death. Until that time, Judaism was increasing in popularity and influence in the Roman Empire. But that act did not make the Romans anti-semitic, just the state.

I prefer to define the beginning of anti-semitism by the first pograms, which for the under educated is when Christians kill innocent Jews, usually around Easter time. The first recorded pogram was during the crusades. At that time the european christians were seemingly unable to distinguish between Jews and Moslims. Of course there are both Jewish and Moslin Semitic tribes. So the present anti-moslin sentiment could be referred to as anti-semitism.
