Though I'd not call inadvertent hypocrisy hypocrisy at all, I can work with these terms.

I don't readily dish out the intentional hypocrisy, either. I think there is a good side to religion, and obviously I think there is a good side to science. But I couldn't let go of your implication (that non-religious types are 'drunks') without responding in kind.
