Science does not operate with human "feelings" or "perseptions". It operates with devices, numbers, equations which are completely independent from humans. Pithagorean theorem does not depend on anyone's perception - it is valid not only for humans, but for anyone elese. In fact, it does not even require to have humans or anyone to be around to be true.

Children believe if they close eyes, world ceases to exist. Science is not based on beliefs and perceptions. It deals with facts. Sun is there whether you believe in it or not (unlike gods, by the way). Whether there are humans or not. Whether you call it a fireball, a bunch of ions, a bunch of protons, or a bunch of strings - it is there and it physically interact with environment regardless what someone think about it and if someone is around or not.
