Some atoms/compounds constantly join/combine into more complex compounds, other compounds split into atoms or into more simple compounds - all according to physics/chemistry laws and without beginning/end.

Our carbon, oxygen, etc atoms will split from compounds and recombine multiple times after our death to participate in other's bodies, or rocks/gas/liquids formations.

It is all never ending interactions, history of which we call "body", "alive leg", "dead brain", etc.
