Hi Alex,

The question was not "Which came first, the chicken or the chicken egg?" The question is "Which came first the chicken or the egg."

It doesn't matter how indistinct the exact starting point of the chicken species was, if you go back before that to a time when there definitely were no chickens yet, you will find that the animals which eventually evolved into chickens came from eggs. It is those eggs which definitely came before any and all chickens.
