If you thought I was trying to dissuade you from pointing out their logical errors, believe me, I was not. I was just pointing out that you should sympathize with them, not feel any contempt. They are just ignorant of rational thought. This is quite common and, as Harv has pointed out many times, even Alex, who puts rationality very high on his list of important qualities, refuses to think about some subtle aspects of his “beliefs”.

As I said to Harv once, an open mind believes absolutely nothing unless it can be proved that the belief is necessary. Harv’s position on that statement was that I was crazy. So we all have beliefs!
