I don't know what to suggest to do about it though. You can't just pump more money into the schools, because it can't increase teachers' skills. You can't demand more educated teachers, because there's already a shortage. I agree with Alex that education has become a little bit to capitalistified, (No, really, I passed my English courses) die hard capitalist that I am. If it comes down to schools vying for your attention, the focus becomes less on academics and more on what some students want to hear: athletics, ease of courses, male/female student ratios, etc. |
