: : Does anyone know the difference between "random-accident" and "nonrandom-intelligent?" : : Like when 21 comets impacted the back side of Jupiter in 1994... 21 months after HRMS : : (Nasa's SETI program) was commenced by the Ames Research Center & JPL? Does anyone think : : the whole drumrolled event was a bit much to pass off as, well, just "one of those things."

: :: What could '21' possibly signify? : As for seti, I can see that they live on a flat world surrounded with egg shells with stars, etc on them...why the hell do they expect other intelligences to use elec. mag. waves to transmit messages? There ARE easier and CHEAPER ways...

The reson for this is because they have very high opinions of themselves and their technology. Thet equate "intelligence" with electro.-mag. wave use. They believe that an intelligence 1 or 2 billion years older than humankind could not possibly have use of communicational technologies any more advanced than radiowaves, because human science is #1.
