How Did Capella (Alpha Aurigue) Became A Yellow Giant Star?

There is a star in the constellation Auriga called Capella. Since Capella is a double yellow giant star and has a mass of about 3.3 and 3 solar mass each. I want to know how these star became a yellow giant? |
