Richard,

I have heard of Philip S. Chen. He was not a physicist, but a chemist. For most of his career, he taught at a small liberal arts college in New England. He was born in Shanghai, emigrated to the USA, where he met his future wife, Helen, who came to Michigan State University from Beijing. They had 6 children. He did indeed write a number of books (13) and was rather a Renaissance man. If interested, you can learn more about him by contacting me: macsamm@earthlink.net

Sam
