I have heard of Philip S. Chen. He was not a physicist, but a chemist. For most of his career, he taught at a small liberal arts college in New England. He was born in Shanghai, emigrated to the USA, where he met his future wife, Helen, who came to Michigan State University from Beijing. They had 6 children.
