Hi Mike:

With regard to our interactions with the world around us, we are both probably making a great number of unwarranted assumptions; survival seems to require it. But scientists should make sure they don't or, if they admit they do, they shouldn't be so confident that their beliefs are correct. And they should at least think about the issues.

"That constitutes an explanation of the information you have been provided since your birth."

What I am trying to say is that your world view is your personal internal explanation of the information your brain has acquired since your birth. It is the source of your moment to moment expectations. Thus it is an explanation under my definition. And, how did you come by it if not from information acquired from birth (or, from some months prior to birth if you want to be exact). And, what is thought if it isn't an attempt to understand information not initially understood.

Lastly, does one really need to think if they understand everything? I have noticed that nobody thinks less than people who understand everything! - that's a joke mike!

Have fun -- Dick
