I feel the same on that topic but I think it is demonstratable that events in this life are no test of God's favor to individuals.

If your conversation partner is the same Yanniru, his 'science' PhD. from 30+ years ago, remember that credential does not qualify him to explain 'God's' most illogical personality traits, so his disagreements with you are merely opinion. Nor, with those credentials, can he usefully evaluate the notions of anonymous Harv for anyone but himself. So his agreements with you are no indication of the merit of your wishes and beliefs.
