How Far Back Can We Look?

Question from a Non astronomer here.

I keep hearing about how we are looking back into the past with better and better telescopes.

The question I have is, percentage wise, how far back can we go? My thoughts are, for something moving at the speed of light, only 50% back to the BB.

For something going away from us at 10% the speed of light, less than 10% back to the BB.

Any thoughts?
