it seems i've misunderstood your query...
and i'm sure you're obviously aware i am not versed well in physics or astronomy.

if you could tell me for my own sake...because as you had said originally, i don't think i can sleep until i figure this out!

how is it possible that an object would take 1 year + 36.5 days to make the distance at 90% lightspeed (that i get), yet watching through the telescope it appears to take 36.5 days to make the entire journey.
this i don't get!
