i appreciate your response very much as always.

never having fully studied boolean math, from what little i know of it and having seen what computers are able to do with 0 & 1 and basic functions and also some of the areas you allude to i had to suspect his synopsis was correct even if it seems some what "brutish".

i did ask my son where his synopsis came from. he said it wasn't from his math teachers but it just looked that way from what he's seen of math.
