yes i believe thats it....
the behavior doesn't "seem" to square with the omega factor you discussed earler except they say that our 3 dimensions don't actually crunch at all (it is only illusionary) but one of the curled up "other dimensions" expands and curls up again which is what really drives the crunch and following bang. so i guess the theory would follow the omega factor.

i wonder how this squares with the laws of thermodynamics?

i'll have to look further into this it is very interesting.
