Yes, Red Filter On The Moon

Yes, the red filter should be a help on the moon. It doesn't bring out any details, it's just easier on the eye. Even in a 60MM the moon is pretty bright. You need to wait for the after vision to clear before looking at anything else. That takes a while after looking at the moon. With the red filter there's no after vision at all, even with my 12". I use the #25 Red from the Orion catalog.
