My wife bought me a Galileo CC2800 800 X 60 telescope for my b-day earlier this year. The scope itself is not bad. Its an achromatic refractor with 20mm and 6mm eyepieces, both of which are okay. It also came with a worthless 3x Barlow. The worst features seems to be the tripod and mount which are supposed to be an alt-azi type. Galileo is made by Renaissance Optical located in Florida, but they don't seem to have a web site. My goal if anyone can help me is to find and new mount, preferably a german equitorial that I can use for my scope. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
