I have recently bought an Orion Collumating EP and (after several hours) thought i had the collumation bang on. I took may scope out (I let it cool down etc) and looked at M31. All it looked like was a large 'blob'! I didnt see any detail or resovle any stars. I have a 10inch f/4.8 newt.
I'm not 100% sure my center dot is perfectly positioned.

Does it sound like my collimation is out?

Is there an easy/effective way of doing/checking the center spot?

Please help!!!!
