I am also relatively new to stargazing I have a really small 2'' reflector it can only see a Saturn as a spec of light and bought it for under $100. I am planning to upgrade. My recommendation to you is to look at astromart.com, ebay.com, and telescope.com from Orion there prices for 4.5-inch scopes are reasonable and tend to be lower than bausch & lomb. The other two websites listed usually have good deals on used scopes if you don't care if it is new or not.
