I obviously don't know a great deal on the subject but it seems to me that no-one has linked the magnetic fields of planets and satellites with captured rotation.

It would seem that Mercury and Venus have weak magnetic fields because they are in or very nearly in captured rotation.

Or is it because they are the only ones without satellites?

On another forum I came upon a thread where one poster suggested that Venus turns its face from the sun to the earth and back again, according to its orbit.
