I am very much a newbie here and have recently purchased a 114mm reflector telescope. The question I have is this; I have two options with the lens cover, I can take off a small lens cover that opens up about a 1-1 1/2 inch circle in the middle of the lens cap or I can take off the whole thing. Now I know this sounds like a dumb question, but which one is better to remove when viewing and also aside from the size, why a large and a small? Appreciate the help.
