Just bought 'em. They are 7 X 35 with a field of view of 578'@1000 yds. Cost was about $50. They were packaged in one of those vaccumed formed plastic wrappers so I couldn't test them. On the package was written "PERMA FOCUS", "focus-free", and "Never Needs Focusing". I didn't believe that could possibly be true, so I bit. But it is!! There is absolutely no way to focus these things. There is not even a diopter setting (changing focus for just one eye). How can this be?

They do work pretty well for me, but they are a Christmas present for my son and I'm worried. Bushnell is a well known brand and the MSR is about $79. The model # is 17-3507.
