It Was A Reflector. Reflector Is Better Than Refractor.

You don't have chromatic and some other aberrations inherent to refractor (lense) in reflector (mirror). So, generally reflector is better than refractor of the same size.

Poor eypiece is equally bad for both. But you can always buy good eyepiece separately.
