Just A Coincidence?

Does the moon really have an influence on a woman's menstrual cycle? Or is it because the moon and menstrual cycle share a similar 28 day calender?
I believe it is the latter, as there apppears to be little evidence to support the former. Not to mention that if it were the case, more than half the population of the world would be rather crabby at the same time, and the other half would be in hiding. Not very good evolution, in my opinion!
It seems to me that the logical explanation is coincidence. :)
