The Blue filter is supposed to be best for viewing Jupiter. It brings out the red spot and the bands. I found it no use at all on my 80MM refractor. It just filtered out too much. The image was dark and dull. On the bigger scope, it works well. But it does delete certain features. You use a filter when you want to see a specific detail. They are used more for photography than observing. The Nebula filters are great for observing. But again, they filtered out way too much on the 80MM.
