The Vixen RA drive system can fit on a CG-5 mount. Mine is a Vixen, and does well. I do not use the clutch, but now I'm beginning to change my mind on that as well. The CG mounts are "copy" clones of the GP. The GP's have better tolerences than the CG mount, however the CG mounts can be more than adequate as long as you don't exceed weight limitations and put them on wooden legs. Orion has some Vixen setups for both RA and DEC that can go on the CG-5 mount. As for the Meade LX500 (203) I'm not sure if they can be tranferable. Good Luck!! |
