First of all I have been doing astrophotography for 25 years, so I am not new. I own a LX200 12" and a C-8 and a few refractors from 3" to 6". I use them all, except my Dobs, for photography. When the LX10 came out there was a company called "Star Track" and had a gizmo that rendered the scope "goto". It wasn't cheap. If I remember correctly it was like $300 then. I think the company either is gone or they changed their name. What I am not sure. They made drives for the then new CG3. Now that Celestron is coming out with a Nexstar 11 and 14 (I guess this year) they have claimed these scopes will be capable of long term photography. We shall see.
