: While Alpha Cen A is the right kind of star to have terrestrial planets, the other stars in the system would screw up your orbit. Also, a planet can be exactly like Earth in terms of mass, distance from its sun, etc., and WITHOUT life,it will not be habitable because the atmosphere will be mostly CO2 & Methane. The atmosphere that Earth has is maintained by the life processes that remove Co2 & giving up Oxygen (photosynthesis). Just another factor to consider. If you are considering placing NATIVE life on this planet, keep in mind that it would be INCREDIBLY, ASTRONOMICALLY unlikely for life to develop in such close proximity to other life.
