I hope to purchase a large dob, of the approx. 18" persuasion, in the next 1-2 years. (By that time child support will be finished :) and i will have sorted out the problems in my 10" Starfinder.

I have checked the web sites for Obsession, Starmaster, Star-splitter, Discovery, and prob some others that dont come to mind. All make their own claims of superiority, Obsession being the most assertive (referring to the competition's bendy mirrors, inferior mirror cells, poor side bearings etc)

Where can i find a serious discussion of the relative merits of these scopes. I have no doubt all are fine instruments, but i dont want to make an expensive purchase that i regret.
