I`ve been doing some research on scopes, as I wanted to start out with something respectable as a good chaser for the "department store scope" that was purchased for me last Xmas. The Maksutovs really looked good, until I encountered the fact that they need a LONG time to "cool" themselves to the outdoor environs before they will yield passable results. Is the same true for the Schmidt-Cassegrain? If so, which scope would you recommend I get (and why, if you would be so kind..); my budget is between 1-2k. Thanks,
Bill Skrips
