There are so many sites to go to for what you want. Go to a major search engine and type in amateur+astronomy+beginners a zillion sites will come up. You could start at www.nasa.gov or even here at the links page. Another is www.space.com I also would suggest buying books on Astronomy and a planetary program. Redshift 3 has a good dictionary. Good luck!!
