First, look into the tube as you turn the focus knob, you should notice the main mirror moving. There are about 50 turns of the focus knob through its range of focus. go through the entire range of focus back & forth and see if the main mirror is moving. If its not, send it back to where you bought it or to Meade.

Worst case is that it will cost you a couple hundred for a new focus rod or the corresponding nut it attaches to, if they were stripped out.
