Orion 8"Dob Vs 8" EQ, First Telescope

I am a newbie about to purchase my first telescope and was about to go with the Orion 8" Dob (Skyquest) but I think the EQ mount (Orion Skyview) could be nice for sharing views with others that would not be used to tracking an object. I am also concerned about the f/4 ratio of the short tube 8" EQ. I would like to view Saturn, Jupiter and Moon in addition to deep space. I live about 20-30 min south of Nashville in a somewhat light restricted community.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, David
