I am not that familiar with the Celestron, but I am with the Meade LX10. The OTA is fine equipment, it does well. The mount however I find to be a hit and miss quality. The one I currently use has a slight back lash problem. The mount will track OK, but the slightest movement will vibrate a while. I have learned in the past that not all LX10's will do this. There are others that are fine. Meade is starting to get a reputation of off and on again quality. In other words it's kind of like a gamble on which one you'll get. You could in the long run put it on another type mount. I have been told that Celestron has a decent setup. Good Luck!
