Read your reply above, I'm about to purchase a scope and I'm having difficulty deciding between the Orion 120 on EQ-3 and Celestron's G8Newt on CG-5. How does the 120 perform on deep-sky objects compared to your 8" dob? To what magnification have you pushed the scope? Have you tried the optional RA/Dec drives? Any other thoughts on this scope would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
