: 12 degs. N. dec. Imagine the 53 deg. S. dec. arc starting at your eastern horizon and arching up through your zenith to the western horizon. Since it`s 90 degs. from the zenith to the horizon, add 90 degs. in the Northern direction to 53 degs. S. to come up with 37 degs. N. dec. Thus, the 37 degs. N. dec. arch intersects the pt. on the N. horizon. Since the star is 25 degs. South back toward the zenith, simply subtract 25 from 37 to arrive at 12 degs. N. dec. Aha, I had a feeling I forgot something. Good job Phil. |
