A 10" SCT with a slower focus like f/10 will perform greater than a 8" anything. The 8" is basically the size where you can see most deepsky for your money for its' size. The LX50 can be conputerized by the way. Roughly a 10" mirror gathers 77% more light than a 8". It's a matter of what you can afford. If you can get a 10" rather than the 8", get the 10". Now the question is: Do you want a Dobs or a EQ mount or SCT. Lots to think about concerning what YOU want. Good Luck! |
