: I am studying astronomy in science class. I am doing a report on Alpha Centauri and I really need to know the names of all three stars. I know that there are Proxima Centauri and Alpha Centauri, but I dont you the third one. Can you help me? Alpha Centauri consists of: Alpha, Alpha B., and Proxima(called Proxima because it's close proximity to Earth: ONLY 4.22 Light years away) Have seen Alpha called Rigel Kent. Hope this helps. Best regards, Bill |
