Bright Object In East

Here in Northeast Thailand, we see a very bright object in the night sky around 7 pm onwards, which is located in the East and about at a 30-40 degree angle from ground. Is this Mars or Mercury? What other planets are visible in the night sky here? Thanks for responding. My brother-in-law really wants to know, as he built a small PVC-tube scope and we use my Meade 4" refractor for better viewing. Frank |
