: Which direction is the hub of our galaxy on a celestial map? Is there a simple way to locate it? Thanks in advance for any info. Check out the following picture on NASA's APOD site (Astronomy Picture of the Day) and save this one in your favorites. By using the search & index at that site, you will see some of the best astro-photos around, and can learn a lot. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap990911.html
