Has the time come for everyone to use these items? A laser pen is about 1 milliwatt so 1000 million people can deploy a million watts of laser light...if acting in concert, and that many pens exist. On new years morning the moon rises at just past three quarters phase and the centre of the disk is dark. Apollo 11's reflector will be in darkness to the right. If folk can be persuaded to celebrate by pointing their pens at the moon every half-hour on the half-hour for half a minute or so, a good size dobsonian might see the reflected beams. And the sceptics might be convinced that some folk have been there. Hope this is of interest and you excuse this bout of megalomania. Also suggest wide use of blue tinted safety specs since these pens exist.
