Congradulations!! You have a nice scope. If your scope is equatorially mounted and have a auto drive then yes, you can use a CCD. But make sure the CCD will be compatible with the focal length of your scope which is 48". Indeed, the Leonids will be here on the evening of the 17th. But in real time around the wee hours of the 18th. If you live on easterly side of the US & Canada, you are in a good spot. Remember look for Leo's head. I have seen it above the horizon at around 2:15 am. Shouldn't be a problem. Have fun with the scope. Any questions, give me a jingle....pray for good weather!!
